According to honeygrow’s Head of Brand & Marketing, Eric Henry…

I was eating honeygrow for years before I ever thought it might be possible to work there. The key is a balance of healthy AND craveable. Stir-Fry offers the deliciousness and warmth of comfort food, but all of the vegetables and nutrients your body needs, and nothing is more honeygrow than the classic Spicy Garlic. Like all of our dishes, if you have the right ingredients, it’s not only easy to make, it’s a ton of fun!

It all starts with the noodles. Ours are super high quality from Sun Noodle, and we have different varieties like egg white (the classic) and whole-wheat.  Next comes the protein and the vegetables. The main concept of honeygrow is “Create Your Own,” meaning that you can add or subtract whatever you want to your dish to make it uniquely yours. A Spicy Garlic CYO is always on the table, but I definitely recommend making it as suggested (with pineapple!), as all of the flavors were meticulously curated by our very own Founder and CEO, Justin Rosenberg. The main event is the sauce, which is proprietary to honeygrow. The good news is that we are now selling all of our sauces (and noodles!) directly on our app as part of our new on-demand grocery service called "honeygrow At Home." Another creation of Justin Rosenberg’s, it’s the perfect blend of flavors with an amazing kick of spice.

Have a wok? Use that. It’ll feel like you are on the line in a restaurant. Made too much? Put it in the fridge, and heat it up in the wok with some new ingredients tomorrow!  We always try to make it fun for our guests in the restaurant, and so our honeygrow At Home experience is nothing short of that.

PRO TIP “MISE EN PLACE”

Stir-frying is a fast-paced cooking technique that only takes a few minutes. Mise en place (MEEZ ahn plahs) is a french term for having all your ingredients measured, cut, peeled, sliced, and grated before you start cooking, which is critical when making a stir-fry.

1. COOK PROTEIN

+ Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan/wok over high heat

+ Add chicken and cook without moving until slightly browned, about 1 minute. Continue to cook while stirring regularly until cooked through

+ Transfer to a bowl and set aside

Note: It is important to cook protein fully through before combining with vegetables and noodles.

2. COOK VEGETABLES

+ Wipe out pan/wok. Add 1 tbsp oil and cook over high heat

+ Add bell peppers, broccoli, red onions and pineapples, stirring regularly until lightly browned and tender-crisp

3. COOK NOODLES

+ Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook egg white noodles according to chart below, stirring regularly with tongs or long chopsticks until al dente and separated

+ Drain and set aside

*Portion Tip: If cooking more than one serving, cook in boiling water until desired texture

Pro Tip: Move quickly + swiftly to achieve the perfect texture!

4. COMBINE + ENJOY

+ Add 1 tbsp of oil over high heat

+ Add chicken, bell peppers, broccoli, red onions and pineapples, tossing and stirring until hot

+ Add egg white noodles and spicy garlic sauce, and continue tossing and stirring until sauce coats all ingredients evenly

+ Place in serving dish, garnish with parsley and season to taste with salt and pepper

+ Serve immediately
